What is AfterPay?
AfterPay comes from the Netherlands and focuses entirely on the option to pay at a later time. The target group is the online market. The organization takes care of the entire Afterwards payment process, including invoicing and the collection process. You therefore never have to worry about customers who do not pay at a later time: you will receive the amount due from AfterPay.
How does AfterPay work?
A webshop that offers AfterPay gives customers the option to pay for their purchase Afterwards. They must then - of course - choose AfterPay when paying, after which they must enter some personal data. This not only involves name and address details, but also checks of creditworthiness. Handy for you as a webshop, because then in any case you do not go into business with someone who is usually known as unreliable.
Once this has been done, the customer will receive a confirmation and you will be notified that you can send the products. The customer can then still pay the amount to AfterPay later, for example via iDEAL. The term for this is two weeks and the customer must have actually paid, otherwise there is a good chance that he or she will not pass the credit check the next time.
The benefits of AfterPay
The big advantage of AfterPay is that you give customers the option to pay later. This can be useful, because then he or she can first assess the product. Your webshop will then have more similarities with a regular store, where it is of course also customary to first carefully examine a possible purchase. You put the customer first - and that is actually always a good thing.
The cons of AfterPay
A disadvantage of AfterPay is not the chance that customers will no longer pay: AfterPay's rather ingenious system ensures that. You can see the high costs of this payment method as a disadvantage.
