An underrated music group is expanding into the US market to shape tomorrow’s music culture

LOS ANGELES, August 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Modern hip-hop music is incredibly diverse. Over the past few decades, the music industry has seen international figures such as Drake, Stormzy and many others put their international hometowns on the map and infiltrate the US market to dominate the charts. While the rise of English-speaking European hip-hop has certainly accelerated, one country has yet to break through this barrier: The Netherlands. Despite the fact that most Dutch urban artists adopt the English language in their music, there is still a huge gap between Holland-based on talent and the mainstream US market. Two professional athletes, both of whom have achieved immense success in music, are on a mission to change that — and the face of urban hip-hop on both sides of the pond.

When the world famous footballer ryan babel founded Underrated Music Group (UMG) BV (Holland) in 2013, he found great success releasing music with Holland-based on hip-hop artists, but soon realized that no true urban music artist had made it into the US market. Determined to close that gap, Ryan teamed up with a former professional basketball player and owner of a successful music label Michael Gomez to launch Underrated Music Group UNITED STATES. In an industry dominated by white-run urban labels, Ryan and Michael have created a powerful music group that is 100% black owned and operated, and is poised to change the face of music as we live. know her.
