The Cannes Film Festival will see a lot of Indian talent showcased this year. From Deepika Padukone being part of the jury to Hina Khan unveiling the poster for her next film, Cannes 2022 will be a special event for India. Singer and composer Raghu Dixit is also expected to present his music at the upcoming film festival. He recently revealed what he is aiming for and how he will showcase Indian culture at the festival.

Lead singer Raghu Dixit of popular band The Raghu Dixit Project is set to perform at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The singer recently spoke to Hindustan Times and revealed that he is currently awaiting his visa. He joked that he didn’t want to announce his performance at the film festival until his visa arrived. Additionally, he revealed that he hasn’t heard about the interview dates for the visa procedure and mentioned that if his visa comes through, he will be flying to France for a “special performance.”

He added: “My life has taught me lessons that we don’t celebrate before, and that we shouldn’t count the chickens before the eggs hatch, so I’m waiting for the eggs to hatch.” However, the singer is already ready for his May 21 performance. Dixit revealed that his entire group will not be able to make it to the festival and that only five out of nine members will fly to France.

Raghu Dixit reveals his idea for the festival

Raghu Dixit is known for featuring a blend of Indian music with a touch of humor in his songs. He made a name for himself across the world with the same. He performed with his band at the British Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration in 2012. In 2015, he performed with Cold Play lead singer Chris Martin in Delhi. Speaking of Cannes, the singer mentioned that he aims to take India to the festival. He said: “The idea is to tell stories of India, which our songs naturally carry. Our Kannadas are all very full of philosophy. And when it comes to India, we are the first destination for spirituality and all that. And our songs have that. So I want to show them a good time and make them dance.”

“Seriously, I want everyone to have a good time and make them sing. Maybe we’ll make the French people sing in Kannada with us,” he added.
