Popstar Dua Lipa has been slowly revealing plans for her highly anticipated third album.

The latest project update has arrived via vogue Australia on September 15. “As I write my new album, I feel even more liberated in a completely different way,” she told the magazine, alluding to new music full of ambition and newfound freedom. “And even more in control than I thought.”

Earlier this year, the singer-songwriter confirmed to be working hard on new music, teasing “He has a vision. It has a name, I think, for now. It was just fun to experiment. I’m still going to do pop music, but it has its own unique sound, which is exciting,” the “Levitating” artist explained. However, she then added that she was “in no rush to release a new album”.

The singer gave fans another update in March, saying her upcoming album was “50% done” on the Elton John episode from her Dua Lipa: At your service podcast, explaining that the album is “starting to feel good”.

More project news came in May this year when Lipa sitting with vogue. “I’ve definitely grown up,” she shared, saying her music has matured both sonically and thematically. “It’s like I’m coming to my power and not being afraid to talk about things,” the singer said of the album. “It’s about understanding what I want.”

It’s unclear when the star’s new music will arrive, but when it does, it looks like fans can expect a Dua Lipa like never before.

On Sunday night (September 18), Lipa celebrated the 80th show of his Future Nostalgia Tour in Bogota, Colombia. The world tour, in support of her second album, kicked off in early February this year after seeing several postponements due to the pandemic. It will end in mid-November after its Australian leg.
